After spending ten years traveling the U.S. for sales and marketing, Sandy Leary, Managing Associate for Bailey Personnel Consultants, understands the importance of building relationships. "Early on, I realized that one must build relationships and form partnerships to be successful in sales and marketing," says Leary. "I recognized that those same principles would serve me well when I returned to recruiting."

A year-and-a-half ago, Leary joined Bailey Personnel, a company specializing in sourcing and recruiting since 1962. Soon after joining the company, Leary read an article about RochesterWorks! in the Democrat and Chronicle , and contacted Business Services Manager Claudia Gately; it's been a partnership ever since. Working together, Bailey Personnel and RochesterWorks! have created a win-win situation for both employers and job candidates.

"RochesterWorks! has sent us some awesome candidates for our open job postings, and we've been able to help them grow their candidate base and to gain awareness and visibility of their services," explains Leary. She adds, "We've been able to help folks who may need financial assistance with re-training by sending them to RochesterWorks!, and we've also referred candidates who may need work with a counselor before they step right out into a new job search."

In return, Bailey Personnel has been able to interview and meet with some very qualified candidates from RochesterWorks!, particularly in specialty niches that, as Leary describes, "we'd otherwise might have possibly missed in our quest to find the right professional for the job!"

Even after working with RochesterWorks! for close to two years, Leary is surprised by the scope of services offered, as she expressed after a recent tour of RochesterWorks! newly relocated career center on Goodman Street. "Everyone should go and tour their new offices and learn firsthand of all the services and resources available to job seekers. It was very eye opening for me!"
