 A leading national provider of payroll, human resource, and benefits outsourcing solutions, Paychex also plays an active role in the community recruiting local talent whenever possible for job openings. Two years ago, the company turned to RochesterWorks! for help with its local recruiting needs.
"The majority of the jobs we recruit are entry level," says Corporate Recruiting  Supervisor, David Mandrycky. "But we also have a need for higher-level management and for technical positions, such as software developers and testers."
To better understand Paychex' culture and recruitment needs, RochesterWorks! Business Services Manager and Representatives visited the company and talked with managers. "They learned the business and connected with the company so they could better refer candidates," says Mandrycky.
Using a variety of RochesterWorks! services, including on-site interviews, job postings and screenings, Paychex has been pleased with the quality of candidates who apply for positions and with the quick turnaround time. "At our first event, we received 70 résumés for one position," recalls Mandrycky. "The quality of candidates has been good and we've made some successful hires."

As RochesterWorks! continues to partner with Paychex and learn the company's business even more, the process of recruiting and matching candidates with jobs also continues to evolve. Last year, Paychex made more hires than any other year. The company attributes this increase to its partnership with RochesterWorks!
"RochesterWorks! promotes our opportunities and refers quality people to us. They streamline the process, set expectations, and really partner with us to create a win-win situation," says Mandrycky.
Recently, Paychex has become more involved with RochesterWorks!, becoming an Employer of the Month as well as participating in the Job Network Club. Since January, the company has made two presentations to the club, providing job seekers with an overview of Paychex as well as discussing topics such as interview preparation, company culture, positions and skills that are commonly recruited, and more.
