Office Clerk/Assistant (P/T OR F/T) - Sheen and Shine

We are seeking a part-time OR full-time Office Clerk for our office on West Main Street in Rochester, NY. This position is part time but could lead to full time hours. We are seeking someone who is efficient, self-motivated and able to multi-task. This is a small business so you must be willing to pitch in when needed. Must have experience working in an office environment. Must be competent and comfortable using Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), using email (Outlook) and interacting with the general public in person and on the phone.

This position provides administrative, secretarial and clerical support to others in the office to maintain an efficient office environment. We are looking for a team player who is open to learning new skills.

Job Requirements may include but not limited to:

  • Answer phones and transfer to the appropriate staff member
  • Greet public and clients and direct them to the correct staff member
  • Monitor incoming emails and answer or forward as required
  • Fax, scan and copy documents
  • Type documents, reports and correspondence
  • Prepare outgoing mail for distribution
  • Maintain office filing and storage systems
  • Retrieve information when requested
  • Update and maintain internal staff contact lists and organizational charts
  • Update and maintain databases such as mailing lists, contact lists and client information
  • Assist with event planning and implementation
  • Processes weekly payroll
  • Assists with certifications
  • Some telemarketing
  • Other duties as assigned

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Previous office experience preferred
  • Competent computer skills including (MS Office Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Internet skills including use of e-mails, data collection and internet searches
  • Numeracy and literacy skills
