Genesee Land Trust is seeking a Landscaper Apprentice Program Assistant to work with the summer Landscaper Apprentice program. The assistant will aid the Program Director with daily tasks and supervision.
The Landscaper Apprentice program is a summer employment readiness program for fifteen youth ages 14-15. The program is funded by the City of Rochester’s Summer of Opportunity Program (SOOP) and runs from July 9-August 16, Monday-Friday.
- Guiding and supervising apprentices as they complete their work and implement the landscaping plan.
- Preparation of materials, tools, projects, and work site for daily activities at El Camino and Conkey Corner Park.
- Assisting Landscaper Apprentice program director in completing all required materials of the SOOP program (attendance records, time sheets, permission forms, etc.).
- Attending and participating in Parent Orientation.
Post high school, with one year of college or work experience. Positive and outgoing attitude, experience working with youth, and interest in landscape/horticulture/gardening preferred.
Work will be based outside throughout the summer. $16 per hour, 6.5 weeks. Dates: July 1-August 16, 2019
