2019 Landscaper Apprentice Program Assistant - Genesee Land Trust

Genesee Land Trust is seeking a Landscaper Apprentice Program Assistant to work with the summer Landscaper Apprentice program. The assistant will aid the Program Director with daily tasks and supervision.

The Landscaper Apprentice program is a summer employment readiness program for fifteen youth ages 14-15. The program is funded by the City of Rochester’s Summer of Opportunity Program (SOOP) and runs from July 9-August 16, Monday-Friday.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Guiding and supervising apprentices as they complete their work and implement the landscaping plan.
  2. Preparation of materials, tools, projects, and work site for daily activities at El Camino and Conkey Corner Park.
  3. Assisting Landscaper Apprentice program director in completing all required materials of the SOOP program (attendance records, time sheets, permission forms, etc.).
  4. Attending and participating in Parent Orientation.

Requirements:

Post high school, with one year of college or work experience. Positive and outgoing attitude, experience working with youth, and interest in landscape/horticulture/gardening preferred.

Details:

Work will be based outside throughout the summer. $16 per hour, 6.5 weeks. Dates: July 1-August 16, 2019
