POSITION AVAILABLE (40-hour week)

SPCC is seeking a full time Nutritionist in the WIC Program. The program is based in Canandaigua and Newark, New York and serves Ontario, Wayne, Yates, Seneca and Eastern Monroe Counties.

TITLE: WIC Nutritionist

POSITION SUMMARY:

WIC Nutritionist performs health and nutrition assessments of WIC applicants. Identifies and documents risk factors according to program requirements. Provides nutrition and health counseling based on participant need. Makes appropriate referrals to health and human service agencies. Travel throughout five county area required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Nutritional Sciences, Community Nutrition, Clinical Nutrition, Dietetics or Public Health Nutrition preferred. Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or an appropriate health related field with at least six hours of approved nutrition coursework required. Strong assessment skills in health and general nutrition. Good communication skills and ability to relate well to persons of various ethnic and socio-economic groups.
