We will advise you on what skills are in demand, how training or education may help your job search lead to employment, and whether you are eligible for financial assistance. Please note that this information is subject to change pending the availability of WIA funds.

Financial Assistance to Train for Healthcare Careers
If you've lost your job and want to train for a new job in healthcare you may be eligible for assistance to offset education costs. To help alleviate the nursing shortage, RochesterWorks! is providing assistance from $3,000 to $5,000 per person for people who want to retrain for nursing careers. Don't Want to Go to College? -- See This Guide to Local Vocational Training Programs If you want to explore alternatives to traditional college degree programs, there are many local vocational training programs available. Most can be completed in one year or less and provide job placement assistance. If you're 18 years of age or older you may qualify for tuition/training assistance.
