Networking at 40+:  A Workshop for the Shy and Reluctant

Presented by:
Rita Carey

Thursday, March 23, 2017
2:00pm - 4:00pm

Goodman Street Career Center

In a slow economy, employers seek to hire through referrals so networking is a requirement.  Most jobseekers find this difficult because the concept is misunderstood.  Networking does not have to be uncomfortable when it is done right.  Learn how to get past shyness to have helpful conversations.

  • Develop a message that helps others help you; it’s not an elevator speech.
  • Explore ways to get past shyness and fears in order to create respectful, reciprocal relationships.
  • Explore some conversation starters that can be comfortable and invite continued dialogue.

Must be registered with RochesterWorks! to attend.  Reservations are required due to limited seating.  To register for workshops, register online or contact RochesterWorks!
