Eve Takes New Knowledge and a Desire to Succeed and Lands Ideal Position at Wegmans

Eve Siconolfi decided to return to the workforce after raising her two children. She had not worked in 26 years and after making her decision to return to the employment world, she then faced many challenges.

Prior to having children Eve was a teacher. Now, 26 years later, she wanted to do something different, something using her skills but also making a career change. Walking into RochesterWorks! was a difficult first step for Eve as she was faced with many challenges and fears. She was confused about what she really wanted to do, unclear as to how to determine her options and unsure if she had what it took to be successful.

Coming from a teaching background proved to be an asset because Eve knew what it took to make an excellent student. And that is exactly what Eve did while at RochesterWorks! She took advantage of many of the services that RochesterWorks! offers, often repeating workshops to ensure grasping all of the concepts. Eve was an active participant in the RochesterWorks! Job Network group.

When asked about her experience at RochesterWorks! she exclaimed, ?My Career Services Advisor identified where I was in the job search and advised me what the next step might be to help me reach my career goal. She helped me come up with a career action plan and suggested workshops that would be helpful to me. She equipped me with every skill needed to help me to be a successful in the job search. She set me up for success.?

When speaking of the Job Network, Eve indicated that, ?The Job Network created a positive learning environment.? Eve went on to say how the various topics discussed in the Job Network assisted her greatly in her success.

As with any good story, this too has a happy ending. Eve took her newly acquired knowledge and her desire to succeed and is now working in her ideal position at Wegmans. This position combines Eve?s love of teaching and her passion for food. Eve?s return to the workforce after 26 years has proven to be successful.
