The New York State Department of Labor in conjunction with Career Centers, including RochesterWorks!, is piloting a new resume matching service, called SMART 2010.
 
SMART 2010 goes beyond the simple word scanning and job matching technology, utilizing artificial intelligence to break down resumes and job orders for matching purposes, and provides customers with a broader range of job leads based on work experience and skills.

RochesterWorks! Career Center staff subscribe customers to the service through a simple email. Customers will receive their first job leads within 24 hours.  SMART 2010 utilizes a five-star rating system to provide the customer with a determination of the best possible job match.
 
SMART 2010 provides more job leads when a resume has a job seeker’s skills, education and work experience listed. However, this resume format should not be used when applying for specific jobs.  As a result, RochesterWorks! is offering a workshop, SMART 2010 Resume Development Lab, to assist customers in catering their resume to individual job posting.  This workshop provides job seekers with an opportunity to update their resume with individualized support and guidance from Career Center staff.
