RochesterWorks Summer Employment Program in partnership with the City of Rochester’s Summer of Opportunity Program is providing a joint effort to assist youth with their summer job search. This pilot program is a collaborative effort, and is expected to help more than 1,000 youth ages 14 – 20 find jobs this summer!
Students must hurry to apply. The last day to submit an application is Friday April 11th. Applications are available on-line at www.rochesterworks.org and in-person at RochesterWorks! Career Centers located at 255 N. Goodman Street or 276 Waring Road. Applications can also be picked up at City Hall and on-line at www.cityofrochester.gov.
The program will serve in-school youth with a priority on students who have at least a 90% school attendance rate, and have had no long-term suspensions for the current school year. This year, we anticipate that our combined program will serve approximately 700 youth in summer employment programs, and 300 youth in non-program summer jobs.
All students must attend a 2-hour Job Readiness Training and a Pre-Screen Interview in order to be eligible for a summer job. Also, parents or guardians must attend a mandatory 1-hour Parent Orientation.
If you are an employer and would like to support a youth with a summer job please call Becky Havranek at 585-258-3546 today!
