Local Youth Participate in Job Connection and Career Exploration Events at RochesterWorks!

RochesterWorks! Youth Services held a Youth Job Connection Event on Friday, October 10th to help youth, ages 16-21, meet face to face with youth friendly employers. Fifteen youth participated in the event and heard directly from employers about what they are looking for in a successful candidate and talked to them about some of the positions for which they are actively recruiting.

Nicole Tribotte, Assistant Manager from TJ Maxx and Kate Burns, Human Resources Manager from The RIT Inn and Conference Center, spoke to the youth at the RochesterWorks! Career Center at Goodman Street about what makes a qualified candidate. At the end of the event the employers handed out applications that the youth were able to fill out, with assistance from the RochesterWorks! youth team.
