Career Readiness Credential for Youth
Today’s workforce has changed significantly over the years and now youth are competing with adults for entry level positions. The Career Readiness Credential (CRC) can be used by young candidates as a marketing tool and demonstrate their willingness to work, trainability, and skills to employers, giving them the edge over other candidates.
The CRC is a career credential that certifies that job seekers have the core employability skills required across multiple industries and occupations. The three assessments that make up the CRC are Applied Mathematics, Reading for Information, and Locating Information, skills identified by employers as being most important. The CRC measures skills in these three areas in a workplace context, further demonstrating your skills and abilities for workplace success.
RochesterWorks! offers skills development through an on-line training program, KeyTrain targeted to developing and increasing these WorkKeys skills. This on-line program is accessible from any computer with Internet connectivity and provides structured learning that youth can do at their own pace. KeyTrain also provides opportunities for career exploration and planning.
