Job Strategy Group meets weekly on Wednesday mornings – come once or week after week. Job Strategy Group is a safe space to practice Introductions, celebrations, and to network and learn. Our topics change every week based on what group members suggest and request.
In addition to weekly meetings, there is an active LinkedIn page for Job Strategy Group members to share resources, tips, and job opportunities.
RochesterWorks! workshops are designed to coach and educate job seekers in both foundational areas of Job Readiness, Career Exploration, and Self-Employment support and special focus topics. The Resource Room at the College Ave Career Center is equipped with 14 computers, telephone, fax machine, copier, JAWS, Zoom Text, scanner, mini keyboard, and Interpretype.

SHL Aspiring Minds Assessment is a skills assessment program that provides over 1,400 validated tests for clerical, software, call center, legal, financial, healthcare, industrial, and technical job classifications. This platform is designed to help employers and recruiters determine if candidates’ have the required skills for a specific job.
In addition, SHL offers training tutorials for Microsoft Office 2013 & 2016 titles in Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Windows 7.0, and Internet Explorer 10.0.
This voluntary program was designed for Social Security recipients (SSI and SSDI) between the ages of 18 and 64 and allows them to try going back to work without the risk of losing their Social Security benefits. If you assign your Ticket to RochesterWorks, you would be entitled to intensive, one on one, personalized assistance from a qualified Career Advisor. Supportive services can include help with your job search and online applications, help writing a resume, interview practice/preparation, help to request accommodations, and general career guidance.
5-Steps is an intensive and interactive program for professionals of all industries and levels of experience. The program consists of 5 days of e-learning and experiential in-class learning, followed by on-going support through a Career Coach and Campaign Team meetings.

RochesterWorks! has a training grant that can cover the costs of education or training for individuals who need to update their skills to find a job or advance in their career.
27 computers are available for any skill training or job search during walk-in hours.
RochesterWorks! provides an intensive job readiness training in order to prepare and place customers in competitive employment utilizing a wage subsidy.
Focuses on individual and family development and addresses the entire being. (Non-custodial parents who are referred from the court system are also referred to this program).
This provides an in-depth assessment of customers past, present, and future goals in order to assign them to activities supported by the Monroe county Department of Human Services.
The Work Experience Program is an activity supported by the Monroe County Department of Human Services and it helps customers receiving benefits gain/refresh their marketable skills.
