From Caregiver to Career Advocate
I had to leave my last job to care for my elderly mom, ultimately taking about a year off to get her back to optimal health. After taking a career break, I needed support in revising my resume and exploring the right opportunities.
I am so grateful to my career advisor for helping me to clarify my career goals and for acting as an advocate for individuals with disabilities. She worked with me to explore a number of opportunities that could be a good fit and made sure that I had access to the appropriate tools to explore the Rochester job market.
I received a great deal of assistance with my resume, cover letters, and interview skills. I took part in several RochesterWorks in-person recruiting events and virtual career workshops. All of the support that I received gave me the confidence to apply for jobs in my field.
