Tahnee, with culinary aspirations, utilized the RochesterWorks Navigator Program to overcome self-doubt and gain entry into Foodlink’s Culinary Pre-Apprenticeship Program. She progressed from there to become a NYS Culinary Apprentice, earning key certifications. She is now thriving as a sous chef, continually honing her skills in customer service and café operations.
Tahnee recognized the importance of pursuing higher education and skill development to achieve her goal of becoming a chef and the RochesterWorks Navigator Program was there to help. Through a Navigator’s guidance and despite personal doubts concerning her culinary skills, Tahnee was accepted into Foodlink’s Culinary Pre-Apprenticeship where her culinary dreams began to flourish and where she thrived. Completing her pre-apprenticeship paved the way for her promotion to a NYS Culinary Apprentice.
After successfully completing her apprenticeship, Tahnee earned certifications in food handling, CPR/First Aid, and excelled in culinary foundations.
Today, as a sous chef, she continues her journey refining her expertise in customer service and café operations. Tahnee’s story embodies resilience, determination, and the remarkable impact of seizing opportunities for growth.
